Motor vehicles and trailers as of 17 January 2005
Procedure for handling the matter
On 1 July 2001 the agenda associated with the registration of motor vehicles and trailers was transferred from the Czech Republic Police, Transport Directorate of the Administration of Capital City Prague City Halls to the Department of Administrative Transport Agendas of Capital City Prague City Hall (MHMP). Citizens are attended to in the following offices:

This office is only for attending to applicants for the issuing of duplicates of original Technical Inspection Certificates – so-called “Large“ ( in the event of loss or theft). In all other cases turn to the separate offices of the Registry of Road Vehicles.
If a citizen needs the issuing of data from the Registry of Vehicles (e.g., if the citizen does not know whether a certain vehicle is or is not registered because of liability insurance), it is necessary to go to the Registry on the 4th floor, room 409, during office hours.
Note: If a Technical Inspection Card – so-called “Small“ - is lost or stolen – it is necessary to turn to the following separate offices.

This office focuses on vehicle registry matters. Performances requiring the presence of technicians are not carried out here.
NOTE: At all offices Fridays are reserved for the processing of administrative matters. The offices are closed to the public on Fridays.
Attention:
The Department of Technicians of the MHMP Department of Administrative Transport Agendas carries out manz other activities, but due to their complexity they canno9t be described in this summary. Therefore, for applicants for, e.g., exchanging substantial parts of road vehicles (body and engine), for rebuilding road vehicles, or for manufacturing individual road vehicles, we recommend that they turn directly to employees of the Department of Technicians and for consultation on their applications prior to caling the above-listed telephone numbers.

Processing periods
Matters under points 1 - 9 are handled while you wait.
The agenda under point 10 is processed within 30 days.
